opening hours
Musikverein does not have museum-style all-day opening hours. From September to June, the box office opens Monday to Friday 9 am to 7 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm; from July 1 to August 31, it opens Monday to Friday 9 am to 12 noon and closes on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. For events, the building opens 1 hour before start time; for Musikverein-organized concerts and selected third-party events, the box office also opens 1 hour before start time, while hall admission usually begins 30 minutes before the performance. Guided tours do not run on Sundays or public holidays and can be postponed or canceled for rehearsals or technical work.
tickets
Concert prices vary by event, hall, seat category, and organizer, so there is no single venue-wide admission price. For 2026 guided-tour slots, regular tickets cost €10 per person, pupils and students pay €6 with ID, and children under 12 are €0 when at least one regular ticket is selected. Each tour participant needs a ticket, and guided-tour bookings are capped at 8 tickets per customer.

how to get there
The easiest anchor is Karlsplatz via U1, U2, or U4, with a short walk to Musikverein. Tram lines 1, 2, and 62 stop at Oper/Karlsplatz nearby, while lines D and 71 stop at Schwarzenbergplatz. Bus lines 4A and 59A also serve the surrounding area.
accessibility
Accessible entry points include a ramp and an automatic sliding door, plus wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Dedicated wheelchair spaces are available in both the Great Hall and the Brahms Hall. Reserve accessible seats in advance so staff can prepare your route smoothly.
security
For security, coats, bags, backpacks, umbrellas, and folding chairs are not taken into the halls. Plan a short entry buffer before start time, because cloakroom handling can add a few minutes during busy evening arrivals.
cloakroom
Cloakroom handling for coats and larger day bags is available, and a fee may apply depending on item type and event setup. If you are deciding what to carry on a concert evening, a lighter setup usually means faster entry.
luggage
Suitcases and very large bags cannot be stored at Musikverein. If you are in transit, leave luggage at your hotel or at a city storage point before you arrive.
