3 Tips for Visiting the Stratosphere Tower

Leave Your Luggage in the RoomSince there are bag checks at the entrance to the SkyPod for security reasons and some items are not allowed (including canned drinks, a full list can be found here), it is probably advisable to bring as little as possible to the Stratosphere Tower.

Eat After You Get Your Adrenaline PumpingIt most likely smarter to ride Big Shot, X-Scream or Insanity first and eat (or drink alcohol) after.
See the Lights of the NightAfter dark, the vast panorama really comes into its own when the city lights illuminate and you find yourself on top of the Stratosphere Tower surrounded by a sea of color.

Stratosphere Tower: The Highest Building in Las Vegas

The SkyPod has several attractions to offer on different floors: inside the tower there is even a wedding chapel - typical for Las Vegas - where wedding parties suitable for all budgets can be booked.

The Exciting Rides of the SkyPod

On the edge of the Las Vegas Strip, The Strat casino, of which the Stratosphere Tower is a part, offers more than just gaming thrills. The SkyPod rides on floors 112 and 109 have it all. But if you just want to enjoy the view or relax and dine at lofty heights, you'll be well served here, too.

Today's SkyPod was the original site of the Las Vegas High Roller roller coaster until 2005.

X-Scream is a roller coaster of sorts, where riders are pushed over the edge of the SkyPod and hang upside down high above the Las Vegas Strip, only to be pulled back onto the platform.

Big Shot

The drop tower at the top of the Stratosphere Tower catapults passengers to 1,081 feet (330m) nearly 209 feet (64m) above the height of the observation decks before you fall back again with a fantastic view over Las Vegas. This is the highest point visitors can reach at the Stratosphere Tower.

At up to 3 Gs, Insanity passengers are pressed into their seats as the attraction's arms spin along the side of the Stratosphere Tower. Not for the faint of heart! The rides are only an additional $5 with a ticket to the SkyPod observation deck.

For the most daring among the visitors of the Stratosphere Tower, the (almost) free fall from the tower on a brake rope to the ground is just the thing. Tickets for the SkyJump must be purchased separately.

Various Restaurants in the Stratosphere Tower

A ticket to the SkyPod Experience is required for access to the restaurants.

Top of the World Restaurant, 106th Floor

Every 80 minutes, the entire restaurant rotates 360 degrees! So you can be sure to experience the panorama in its entirety during a leisurely dinner in the Stratosphere Tower.

108 Eats, 108th Floor

Rather smaller snacks, ice cream and panini can be found on the 108th floor, so for dinner the Top of the World restaurant is more advisable.

Other restaurants and cafes, including a pizzeria and sports bar, can be found on the lower floors of the Stratosphere Tower.
