The Ostankino Television Tower was built in 1967 and was a symbol of Moscow’s modernity and progress. Standing 1771 feet (540m) tall, the tower is still in use today by the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network, in addition to being one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. Visitors can marvel at the views of the city, take a tour of the tower’s secrets of engineering, or enjoy a delicious meal in the rotating restaurant.

The Ostankino Tower is open daily from 10 am to 11 pm, and the ticket office is open from 9.15 am to 9.55 pm. A valid form of ID is required to enter the tower.

Adult tickets cost RUB1100 for weekday visits between 12 noon and 10 pm and RUB700 for weekday visits between 10 am and 11 am. Discounted tickets are available for children aged 7 to 18, full-time students, and pensioners. Discounted weekday tickets cost RUB400 for trips between 10 am and 11 am, and RUB600 for visits between 12 noon and 10 pm. Tickets for holidays and weekends cost RUB1300 for adults and RUB700 for those who qualify for a discounted ticket. Children under the age of 7 are not allowed to enter the Ostankino Tower.

how to get there

The Ostankino TV Tower can be reached via public transport to VDNkh metro station, which is served by the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line of the metro, tram numbers 11 and 17, trolleybus numbers 14, 48, and 76, and bus numbers 33, 56, 76, 93, 136, 154, 172, 195, 239, 244, 286, and 803. Alternatively, visitors can take public transport to Mariina Roscha metro station, which is served by the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line of the metro, trolleybus numbers 13, 15, 18, 42, and 69, and by bus numbers 12, 19, 24, and 84. Car parking is available for a fee on Novomoskovskaya Street.
