how to get there
The nearest rail hub is Edinburgh Waverley Station, about 0.97 km (0.6 mi) away. Airport trams stop about 0.8 km (0.5 mi) away, and buses crossing North Bridge leave you with a walk of about 0.64 km (0.4 mi). If you drive, the easiest parking base is the NCP Castle Terrace car park, about 0.64 km (0.4 mi) from the entrance.
accessibility
From Dec. 1, 2025, to Apr. 30, 2026, wheelchair access is temporarily limited because the narrowest doorway to the tour, restaurant, and event areas is 720 mm (28 in); the shop remains accessible. Outside that note, the building has a lift to each floor, accessible toilets, hearing support, signed and audio-visual guide options, and assistance-dog access. An essential companion can enter free when assisting a disabled guest who requires support, but tasting inclusions can differ by tour.
luggage
There is no cloakroom or suitcase storage on-site. You can still take luggage through the visit, because most of the tour is seated and lifts reach each floor, but large bags are awkward on the upper Royal Mile. If you want a lighter visit, use left-luggage options near Waverley Station or the bus station first.
