6 Tips for Visiting the Ferrari World

Formula Rossa | Photo: Flickr, Martin Lewison - CC BY-SA 2.0
Make sure you take a ride on the world’s fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa! With a top speed of 149 mph (240kmh), you’ll feel up to 4.8g of force while riding, making for some excellent photos at the end! Because it goes so fast, riders are also required to wear protective glasses similar to those skydivers wear, just in case you cross paths with airborne particles or insects.

Immerse yourself in all things Ferrari at the park with special rides and exhibits! In Made in Maranello, you’ll be taken through the process of designing and building a Ferrari, in the Galleria Ferrari you can explore the history of Ferrari through a collection of their classic cars, or explore the Italian countryside by boat in the RC Challenge, by car in Bell’Italia, or via a multisensory simulator in Viaggio in Italia.
Lockers are also available for small bags at the rides so don’t worry about leaving your things at the entrance if you don’t mind carrying them with you.
The Karting Academy doesn’t have a queue because you need to sign up for a time slot to drive. The slots fill up quickly, so head to the track and sign up for a slot when you arrive before taking your time enjoying the park while you wait.
Most of the theme park is indoors and air-conditioned to a breezy 68ºF (20ºC), so if that’s a little chilly for you then make sure to bring a sweater.
Younger visitors should look out for the park’s mascots, Khalil the Camel, Berto the Mechanic, and Benno the Mouse - they’ll make appearances around the park throughout the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drive a Ferrari at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi?

Absolutely! Depending on how brave you feel and how much money you want to spend, there are lots of different ways to get behind the wheel at Ferrari World. You can try a virtual experience when you take the Scuderia Challenge, test your real life skills on a small track at the Karting Academy, or take a spin in a full-size Ferrari as either a passenger or the driver! The driving experience costs extra (AED 795 for drivers, AED 495 to ride along as a passenger with a professional driver) and if you want to drive yourself then you’ll need to prove that you can legally drive in the UAE. You can also try your hand at being part of the pit stop crew in the Tyre Change experience. Read more.

Should we bring lunch or can we eat there?

You aren’t allowed to bring food from outside, but there are plenty of food options within the park! Featuring a range of cuisines, from Italian (of course) to Arabic and Indian. If you can’t find anything there that tempts your palate, then don’t worry! The theme park is right next door to the Yas Mall, which has a wider range of options. Just ask the staff to stamp your hand, grab a bite to eat, and then come back and continue your day in the park. Read more.

How long will a trip to Ferrari World take?

It depends. If you want to see everything thoroughly, and maybe ride your favorite rides more than once, then you can easily spend 6 to 7 hours there. If you’re going to stick to the biggest rides before moving onto another of the parks on Yas Island then you can see most things in 4 to 5 hours. Read more.

What else is there to do on Yas Island?

Yas Island is specially designed to provide entertainment for people of all ages, there’s something there for everyone! It’s home to Yas Circuit, a Formula 1 race track (which a number of the rides at Ferrari World are based on), plus a golf course, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Certain rides will require the rider to have use of their hands in order to brace themselves, so may not be accessible to all visitors, including those with broken limbs, casts, or prosthetic limbs. On certain rides, unsecured assistive devices such as hearing aids should be removed or secured before riding. There are ride test seats available at Formula Rossa, Flying Aces, Turbo Track, and Viaggio in Italia where you can see if you can comfortably use the seat before joining the queue. A full brochure detailing the specific requirements for each ride is available online or from Guest Services. Service animals are permitted, although this is at the discretion of the staff. Ensure that any service animal is wearing an appropriate vest and bring any identifying documents so that your entry isn’t slowed down.
