Interactive science across several floors
The museum was created to stimulate curiosity and critical thinking, so the displays lean toward participation rather than passive viewing. Expect exhibits on science, technology, and the environment that invite you to press buttons, compare results, and talk through what is happening with the people you came with.
The Chromosome Forest
One of the museum's signature spaces is the Chromosome Forest, a large-scale representation of the 23 pairs of chromosomes in the human genome. Its interactive modules connect specific genes with bodily functions, which makes it a strong stop for older children and adults who like biology explained visually.
Workshops and Science on Stage
The Science on Stage area adds participatory demonstrations and experimental classrooms to the permanent exhibits. Programs can change, but the format is useful if you want a more guided moment in the middle of a self-paced museum visit.
Architecture as part of the visit
The building is part of the attraction. Santiago Calatrava's long, ribbed structure has more than 42,000 square meters (452,084 square feet) of built surface, glass walls, organic exterior forms, and views across the pools and neighboring venues, so save a few minutes for the exterior as well as the exhibitions.
