Visit the highest building in Poland

Extremely interesting is a guided tour of the Palace of Culture and Science, a 237-meter skyscraper built in the 1950s at Stalin's behest - and therefore initially unpopular with the population. Poland's tallest building houses cinemas, theaters and offices, as well as a shopping center and restaurants.

Taste Poland's hearty specialties

Food tours, vodka and beer tastings, pierogi workshops and much more: Warsaw offers culinary experiences where you get to know (and perhaps love) Polish cuisine and its highlights. A visit to a bar mleczny (milk bar) where pierogi and much more can be eaten in a kind of canteen setting is also particularly authentic.

Warsaw Uprising Museum

In Warsaw, the Nazis and their collaborators were confronted with armed resistance from the ghetto: The Ghetto uprising of 1944 was one of the largest uprisings against National Socialist rule in Europe. The Warsaw Uprising Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) impressively demonstrates how attempts were made during the two-month uprising to weaken the German occupation and build democratic structures.

Warsaw Ghetto and Monuments

In the Warsaw Ghetto, the so-called Umschlagplatz was the place where Jews were assembled and "selected" before their deportation. Today, a monument in the same place commemorates the deportation and murder of Warsaw's Jews and is considered one of the most important attractions in Warsaw. Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising are dedicated to another monument, around which many guided tours through the area of the former ghetto take place.

Museum of Life under Communism

In the Museum of Life under Communism, everyday life during the time of the Iron Curtain in Europe is depicted - interesting insights into life in the real socialist People's Republic of Poland until the revolution in 1989. While this museum also deals with more recent history, it also presents somewhat lighter topics, making it a Warsaw attraction for families with children.
