Tropenmuseum is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. It is also open on selected Mondays during school vacations and certain holidays. The museum is closed on January 1, April 27, and December 25.

how to get there
From Amsterdam Central Station, tram 14 to Alexanderplein is the easiest baseline. Other useful routes include tram 19 to Eerste van Swindenstraat, tram 3 to Linnaeusstraat, and tram 7 to Alexanderplein. By car, Q-Park Oostpoort is about a 10-minute walk; check 9292 for live route changes.
accessibility
Tropenmuseum is wheelchair accessible with no thresholds, and a lift reaches all floors. Several manual wheelchairs are available, and two disabled parking spaces are available at the adjacent Amsterdam Tropen Hotel with a valid permit. Mobility scooters are not allowed inside.
photography and filming
Personal photography is allowed, including flash. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed, and professional tripod use requires prior permission. Assistance dogs are allowed; other pets are not.
