how to get there
Transit anchors for Alte Pinakothek: tram 27/28 to Pinakotheken, U2 to Königsplatz or Theresienstrasse, U3/U6 or U4/U5 via Odeonsplatz, plus bus 100 and 58 to Pinakotheken. Public transport is usually the easiest choice because immediate parking around the museums is very limited.
accessibility
Barrier-free entry is possible at the main entrance. Four lifts connect all exhibition levels, and both the café and museum shop are barrier-free. Two wheelchairs and light folding chairs are available at the information desk, and accessible restrooms are on the ground floor.
cloakroom
The cloakroom is on the ground floor. Jackets and bags can be deposited for a fee of €1 per person, which is useful if you want to move faster between rooms without carrying extra weight.
lockers
Lockers are available, including larger units for school groups. Standard deposits use 1- or 2-euro coins, and locker numbers are limited at peak times. Bags above DIN A4 / 30 x 20 x 10 cm (11.8 x 7.9 x 3.9 in) should be left in cloakroom or lockers.
photography and filming
Private photography is allowed without flash or tripod. For editorial or commercial filming and photography, separate request procedures apply.
