2011: the wind tunnel opens on Sentosa
The original iFly Singapore opened on Sentosa in 2011, right beside Beach Station. From the start, it was built as a proper indoor skydiving venue rather than a throwaway novelty stop, and that older ambition still shows in how structured the visit feels.
2013 and 2015: credibility grows
Formal quality and safety accreditation arrived in 2013, and traveler-recognition awards followed from 2015 onward. In practice, that helps explain the organized briefing culture and why repeat visitors often see this as more than a quick selfie attraction.
2025: the name changes to AltitudeX
The name on the building is now AltitudeX, while older material and some live booking products still say iFly Singapore. That is why the older name survives in memories, older travel articles, and booking pages even though the brand has changed. It is the same beachfront tunnel, not a different place on the island.
Why the tunnel still feels different
What keeps this stop memorable is the setting: a 17.2 m (56.5 ft)-high, 5 m (16.5 ft)-wide tunnel, acrylic walls facing Siloso Beach and the South China Sea, and capacity for up to 20 professional flyers at once. It works especially well for couples, older kids, and repeat adrenaline seekers who want one concentrated rush, not an all-day commitment.
