At 57m (187 ft) height and 360 steps from the ground, the first viewing platform of the
Eiffel Tower is located. Here you can visit an exhibition that goes once around the platform and tells the history of the
Eiffel Tower. Additionally, there is a sundeck where you can recover from the climb or simply enjoy the sun. The highlight of this floor is definitely the transparent, glass floor, from which you can look down onto the Esplanade.
The restaurant
Madame Brasserie is located on this floor and welcomes you at any time of the day (see Eating at the
Eiffel Tower).
The original spiral staircase, which used to lead to the top of the
Eiffel Tower, was divided into 20 pieces and auctioned. However, a 4.5m (17.7 ft) high part of the staircase is still on display on the first floor.
In the boutique
Feriée you can find souvenirs
’made in France’ and snacks from
The Buffet, which you can enjoy on the south-facing terrace.
