5 tips for visiting the Disneyland Paris

Enjoy thrilling rides like Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.
1
Free AppDownload the Disneyland Paris app to check live wait times, use the handy map, and make sure you’ve got the most current show schedule! There’s free wi-fi throughout the park, so you can download it once you arrive.
Meet your favorite Disney characters at Disneyland Paris.
2
All photos stress-free in the cloudIf you’re planning to meet all the characters you can, or if you love pictures of yourself screaming on roller coasters, consider buying PhotoPass+. You’ll get a card which you can give to Cast Members who are photographers or working in the post-ride photo booth. They’ll swipe it and then you can access all the photos you collect online, so you don’t have to worry about catching every single memory on your phone.
3
Be on site earlyLines tend to get longer as the day goes on, so if you want to ride the biggest rides do it in the morning! There’s time to see the shows in the afternoon when your legs are tired or the weather is at its hottest.
4
Note seasonal changesLook out for seasonal events and other special themed periods! In the run up to holidays throughout the year, or ahead of big movie releases, the parks might have different show programmes and be busier than usual. Either plan well in advance if you want to visit during one of these times or book in the gaps between holidays in order to have a quieter visit.
5
Use Baby Switch and Single Rider queuesAvoid wasting time in lines! If you’re visiting with children who are too small to ride then you can take advantage of Baby Switch, where one adult can ride while the other waits with the kids, then the second person can ride without having to wait in line again. Or if you’re part of a group that doesn’t mind splitting up, then consider joining the Single Rider lines where available. You’ll fill up any empty seats on the ride vehicle, so you might ride separately but you’ll be faster overall.

Disneyland Paris®: A World to Discover

Disneyland Paris is divided into two parks: Disneyland Park® and Walt Disney Studios Park®. Both parks include rides for adrenaline junkies and families with young children alike, both offer the chance to take selfies with Disney characters, and both feature performances, restaurants and stores.

There’s also the Disney Village, which is outside the park and is free to visit, which has even more restaurants, shops, and is sometimes home to concerts. You can easily spend a whole day inside each park, there’s so much to see and do!

Disneyland Park®

Disneyland Park is the Disneyland you’ve seen in the adverts. Disnelyland Park was originally founded in the 1990s as Euro Disney Resort. It’s home to Main Street U.S.A., which leads up to Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Fantasyland. You can also visit Adventureland, Frontierland, and Discoveryland - there are rides based on the Disney princesses, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and so much more! Disneyland Park is also home to the classic Disney parade and nightly firework display.

Walt Disney Studios Park®

Opened in 2002, Walt Disney Studios Park is slightly smaller and is themed around the production of movies.

You enter via the Front Lot, can explore the Toon Studio and Production Courtyard, and can take a tour of the Back Lot where you’ll see demonstrations of mechanical effects. There are more rides based on Disney Pixar movies like Cars, Toy Story and Ratatouille, plus there are stunt shows and chances to meet characters. Characters from the Marvel® Cinematic Universe such as Iron Man and The Avengers are also part of the park's attractions.

Where should I start?

The parks are so extensive that it's easy to lose track - here are two tips:

Beginners should focus on Disneyland Park® for their first visit, especially if only one day can be spent at Disneyland Paris. Those who want to visit the theme parks mainly for the roller coasters will find them in both - here it may be worthwhile to visit the specific rides in both parks on the same day.

Disneyland Paris: Tickets and Prices

As a general rule, different tickets must be purchased for Disneyland Park® and Walt Disney Studios® - unless a ticket for two parks is booked directly. From the first entry into one of the two Disney parks, the ticket is then bound to the day and park and is valid for the selected area for the entire day.

Ticket Options

Day tickets for one park cost from € 56 for adults on weekdays with a pre-determined day, from € 105 if the day of the visit is to remain flexible. On weekends, tickets usually cost a bit more. There are discounts for children from 3 to 11 years. Children under 3 years are free

For the peak season you can expect ticket prices from 109 € upwards (especially on weekends), during the week the tickets usually remain cheaper. This price refers to a ticket for one day and one of the two parks of Disneyland Paris.

With multi-day tickets and combined tickets for both parks, you can save compared to the individually valid prices, but with the latter rather on holidays - the variable prices should be checked again in advance for the date of your own visit. For certain dates individually purchased tickets for the two Disney parks are cheaper when compared to multi-day tickets.

Safe time with the Disney Premier Access

Avoid queues and skip the lines at Disneyland

Queues can be bypassed with the Disney Premier Access for up to 15 euros per ride.

Prices for bypassing the queues vary between 8 euros and 15 euros per person and ride. The pay-to-ride model was introduced at eight main Disneyland Paris attractions.

The Disney Premier Access is booked through the official Disneyland Paris App. Users can select attraction and desired time slot and receive a QR code to scan for access at the entrance of each attraction. Alternatively, it is possible to purchase a Disney Premier Access at several stores in Disneyland Paris. A maximum of three bookings per visitor on the same attraction are possible per day.

Inside the Parks: Tips for a Smooth Visit to Disneyland Paris

The right equipment for visiting Disneyland Paris

You’ll definitely need a camera or phone to take great pictures! We also advise bringing a spare battery pack and charger, especially if you’re planning to use the app to get around and check wait lines. Depending on the season and the weather forecast, bring warm waterproof coats and umbrellas, or sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats. There are water fountains throughout the park, but bring a bottle to refill for standing in lines, especially in summer.

Security

Airport-style security is in place at the entrance to each park, with guests requested to walk through metal detectors and have their bags scanned.

Guest Storage is available outside the parks for a fee, and guests can retrieve items from their bags during the day for no extra charge.

Food

There are many restaurants in both parks. Here are three categories (fast food, buffet and à la carte) with different price levels. Reservations are recommended for à la carte dining and dining with visiting characters. There are also other dining options at Disney Village at varying prices.

You can bring your own food to the parks, only coolers must be left at the luggage storage. This is especially recommended for budget-conscious Disneyland guests, as drinks, snacks and smaller meals in particular can be relatively expensive. There is a picnic area between the parking lot and the main entrance.

There are drinking fountains scattered throughout the park where water can be refilled.

Accessibility

Disabled guests are asked to visit the Donald Desk, City Hall, or Studio Services to collect a Priority Card which will allow them to access certain attractions via specially-adapted entrances. Guests are asked to provide a valid Blue Badge or a letter from a doctor confirming their registration as disabled.

Visitors with reduced mobility or visual impairments should be accompanied by an able-bodied person of at least 15 years of age because Cast Members cannot escort visitors from one attraction to the next or assist visitors out of wheelchairs and into attraction vehicles. Manual wheelchairs are available for hire in both parks. All shops and restaurants are wheelchair accessible. Induction loops are available at several attractions for guests who are hard of hearing.

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome, though they must be on a leash or a harness. It’s recommended that visitors bring a bowl so that the dog can drink regularly throughout the day. Service dogs should not be left unattended while their owner takes part in an attraction which does not permit dogs, they should be left with another member of the visitor’s party. A large print guide to the parks in English and French is available from City Hall and Studio Services.
