The special experiences on the floors

The Iron Lady is the tallest building in the city and a popular vantage point. How far you want to climb the famous tower is up to you. Here are all the information you need to decide on a ticket option.

The 1st floor

At 57m (187 ft) height and 360 steps from the ground, the first viewing platform of the Eiffel Tower is located. Here you can visit an exhibition that goes once around the platform and tells the history of the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, there is a sundeck where you can recover from the climb or simply enjoy the sun. The highlight of this floor is definitely the transparent, glass floor, from which you can look down onto the Esplanade.

The restaurant Madame Brasserie is located on this floor and welcomes you at any time of the day (see Eating at the Eiffel Tower).

The original spiral staircase, which used to lead to the top of the Eiffel Tower, was divided into 20 pieces and auctioned. However, a 4.5m (17.7 ft) high part of the staircase is still on display on the first floor.

In the boutique Feriée you can find souvenirs ’made in France’ and snacks from The Buffet, which you can enjoy on the south-facing terrace.

The 2nd floor

After another 360 steps, you reach the 2nd floor at a height of 116m (380.6 ft). Of course, you can also use one of the five elevators. From here, many attractions can be discovered. In the distance, you can see the Louvre Museum, the Panthéon, the Sacré-Cœur and Les Invalides, while the Seine flows below you. Feel free to use one of the telescopes for a closer look at the other highlights of Paris.

The restaurant Jules Verne, awarded two Michelin stars, is located on this floor.

At the souvenir shop, you can buy your Eiffel Tower souvenir right at the tower itself. Other shops and eating options offer snacks for the entire family. Don't miss the macaron bar.

Inspiration for your visit

The view from the Eiffel Tower lets you forget the everyday life. You can see the city in an interesting, architectural way. The view is constantly changing, it is never the same. As a visitor, you are no longer in Paris, but above Paris - between sky and earth. The Eiffel Tower is not just a landmark, but a symbol of the way of life in Paris.

The 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower - a goal for a world record in rope climbing

The 'monumental' challenge of breaking the world record in rope climbing was faced by Anouk Garnier in April 2024. She is a top obstacle racer, who managed to climb 110m (360.9 ft) on a rope up to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower. The previous world record for climbing on a vertically suspended rope was 90m (295.3 ft); for women, it was only 26m (85.3.ft). It only took Garnier 18 minutes to climb the famous Parisian landmark.
